When Mariana was young, she knew she wanted to have her own business. After graduating with a degree in fashion design, she had the opportunity to work in cosmetics, and that’s when it all clicked: she wanted to have her own makeup line.
Mariana’s first product is mascara because eyes are the window to your soul—they make them stand out and she never walks out of the house without it.
And that’s how we got here! “I went to Nordstrom, with the intention of maybe joining the buying team. Soon the buying team moved to Seattle, but I was invited to go work in the Cosmetic Department for the Brand Bobbi Brown. There I moved up from artist to manager, the account coordinator.
“I started my business as a freelance makeup artist, but then I lost my dad. It was very hard on me because we were so close, and it took me a while to get back on my feet after that.
I decided to put my business on hold for a while, but I relaunched in 2018 with some exciting new products, including my first mascara! The opportunity to launch my own beauty product has been so rewarding!'
Fresa is a term that comes from the Latin language, meaning strawberry. It’s also a term that describes a certain type of person: someone who is fashionable and in the know, preppy, fun, and embodies the quintessential ‘Valley Girl’ attitude.
A fresa is someone who knows how to dress well and keep up with the latest trends. They’re those girls who always look put together, no matter what they’re wearing—and they always have something cute on their heads! Fresas are always ahead of the curve when it comes to fashion trends, but they’re never afraid to try something new.
They love dressing up and being girly, but they don’t take themselves too seriously—they know how to have fun! Fresas are confident in their own skin, they just know who they are and embrace it 100%.
The bow on top of the strawberry is a symbol of femininity that has been passed down for generations.
In Latin culture, the bow is a prominent symbol of a young girl’s innocence. This adornment continues when that little girl gets married and becomes a wife, then a mother who would then pass the tradition on to her baby girl. The grandmothers still enjoy a bow on their clothes or purses, which signifies femininity that has been passed on for generations. “The symbol of the bow in Latin culture never leaves our hearts,” says Mariana,” because we were all once young and innocent.”
